On Thursday 1^st July both Year 2 classes (with the kind support of some Year 6 students and parent helpers) took the coach to Hunstanton. We were really lucky with the weather and could enjoy lovely spells of sunshine and warm temperatures at the Norfolk coast.

In Old Hunstanton we used our buckets and spades to build some fantastic sandcastles and sand statues. We also had a little paddle in the sea water, which was really cold!

In Year 2 we have really enjoyed Going Green Week.
	We have started planting in our allotment and can't wait to see and eat our first crop.

We brought a lot of junk to school and both Year 2 classes worked together to produce some fantastic artwork. Have a look at our pictures. Can you spot what the habitats in the boxes and the minibeasts are made of???

The children then took photos of their minibeast creations in the Nature Garden.

We loved spending time in the Nature Garden to find out which local plants and animals live there.  

We used natural objects outdoors to create excellent pieces of art.

We took part in an exciting drumming workshop and got to know various African instruments.  

With the kind help of a very artistic work experience student, Year 2 students practised their drawing skills and produced some excellent self-portraits. They used mirrors and photos of themselves to observe and notice details in their faces. They tried really hard to put those details onto paper. What do you think???
