The Year 1 Pages
Children in Year 1 visited the Botanic Gardens in Cambridge on Monday July 5th 2010.
There were four different activities to complete: learning about seeds, collecting, finding minibeasts and visiting the hot houses.
The gardens looked fantastic and the weather was great.
The children all had a lovely time learning about different plants from all around the world.

On Thursday July 15th 2010 the children in Year 1 said "I do".
They spent the day preparing for a wedding reception and party.
They made place cards, table cloths, buttonholes and iced biscuits.
The wedding took place in the school hall and the ceremony was followed by speeches and dancing.

We were thrilled in Year 1 to start our Going Green week with a trip to the kitchen to deliver our first allotment-grown lettuce! It appeared in the salad bar at lunch time. You can't get fresher than that!
Our Going Green week work focused on flowers. We have been writing a fantasy story set in a jungle, so we painted a background setting and designed exotic and rare flowers to go into it. We also found out a lot about how flowers grow and how insects help plants to grow by picking up pollen from the flowers.
