On Thursday 25th February, Year 1 visited Ely Museum to find out more about toys from the past. Sally Austin, the museum's Education Officer, showed us how the toys worked and talked to us about the materials they were made from. We were very suprised to find out that dolls used to be made from china - we think plastic is much better because it doesn't break so easily!
The highlight of the trip was watching a puppet show version of Sleeping Beauty - it gave us some good ideas for our moving picture design work. Take a look in the image gallery to see if you can find the photograph of Trinity and Leon helping with the production.
We had great fun playing with the different toys and comparing them to the toys we have at home. Click on the pictures below to have a closer look - which toy would you like to play with?
