On Monday 8th February Year 5 donned their coats and boots and set off on a visit to the Imperial War Museum at Duxord. This was the school's first trip to the aircraft. The weather was not very kind to us, but fairly typical for the winter of 2009/10, i.e. cold, sleety, windy. Despite that, we had a great day out and learned a lot about the aircraft of the Second World War.

We also learned a lot about machines during a workshop on the mechanisms that make aircraft work. The tableaux in the Land War hangar were terrific and included a model who's the spitting image of Michael Rosen. See if you can spot him in the image gallery.

The general opinion at the end of the visit was that we did not have enough time to see everything, and and it was so frustrating not to be able to visit the shop! Next year...
