On Monday 8th February Year 5 donned their coats and boots and set off on a visit to the Imperial War Museum at Duxord. This was the school's first trip to the aircraft. The weather was not very kind to us, but fairly typical for the winter of 2009/10, i.e. cold, sleety, windy. Despite that, we had a great day out and learned a lot about the aircraft of the Second World War.
Home Access is a government drive which will help low-income families to get access to a computer and the internet to get online at home. Check out the Home Access website here.
If you are a low income family in receipt of certain benefits you could qualify for a grant to buy a computer and/or a minimum of one years’ internet access. The programme is aimed at those that need it most and targets families that do not have access to a computer or the internet at home.
They don't let us out much, so on Thursday 14th January Year 5 combined a visit to the Magistrate's Court with one to Ely Museum, and made a day of it.
At the museum Sally Austin, the museum's Education Officer, led us through a fascinating journey back in time to the year 1816, the time of the Littleport Riots. She and her co-workers stayed in role throughout and brought to life the dramatic events of the night of May 22nd. Click the Read More below for an image gallery.
What fascinated the children most were the conditions that prisoners had to live under in those days (pretty awful), plus the hangings of course which held the boys' interest particularly, as you might imagine. Did you know the gallows was in St John's Road?
The children had the Riot Act read to them by Reverend Vachell (in role), even though they were being quite well behaved at the time.
What a fantastic combination - It's Friday, it's the last day of term and it's been snowing! Where better to be on a beautiful sunny December morning than in a snowy field with your friends, building a snowman? Those children who came to school (and actually it was most of them) had a great time and also got to say goodbye to our dear Miss Bryant, who is leaving us for a new job in Manchester.

Have a great holiday and we will see you all back in January.
Hail, Earthlings! The Zorkonian Council sends warm wishes to all. We are enjoying our stay on Earth at the season of Crisscross, er Crossmiss. Oh, you know what we mean!
We enjoyed our meeting with your space humans and were glad to be able to help them get home, even the one who makes the terrible jokes. Enough, already!
We have been exploring Cambridge and have done some of this activity you call shopping. We were a bit disappointed because we couldn't find a single shop that sold plutonium, and people did give us strange looks in the Grafton Centre, but we could not work out why.You Earthings are so odd!
A ginger Earthling called Mr Firth told us there would be a photo disk available next term, of all the photos of Team A, Team B and the Foundation /Year 1 productions. It will be a slide show disk and will cost 2 Earth pounds. Look out for a notice.
