Gavin woke up-He had a terrible nightmare. He dreamed that the storm never happened and that he and Kate were never born. He was sweating all through the night. At one point Kate came in to tell him that everything was ok and we were going to put everything back to normal.
Next morning, Gavin came down to find Kate studying the local newspaper. Gavin asked her what was going on. She replied in delight “The weather forecast says that there will be another storm tonight and possibly tomorrow!” Gavin said to find Jago and tell him because they could send him back. But Jago wasn’t there… Gavin said to search the village from top to bottom. He would search up from the left and Kate would start from the right.
Gavin biked down the village looking for Jago. But didn’t succeed to find him. Gavin and Kate met right at the nose of the harbour telling each other they couldn’t find him. But Gavin could se a small white figure in the distance. It was Jago. They ran towards him to find him climbing in to his wooden boat. Gavin said to him why he was there he said ”I heard there was going to be a storm. I will get my boat ready for it.”
“But the storm is tonight Jago.” Kate said
“I’ll wait here for the remainder of the day until the storm comes.
Gavin volunteered to stay with him.
Later Gavin told him about the nightmare he had. And to his surprise Jago had the same dream! Gavin had an idea that the two dreams were telepathically linked. But then he dismissed thought.
At the early stages of dusk Gavin could hear the shallow cries of the storm. He told Jago to wait there while he got Kate. He Got Kate and came up with a plan. While he distracts dad Kate will get the Kittiwake keys. They got the keys and got to work. They drove the Kittiwake about 100m from the harbour and carefully lowered Jago, who was in the boat, into the sea. Gavin could now hear and see the deep laughs of the storm. Lighting had already struck once-They had to act fast. They pushed Jago out into the open… Nothing happened.
The sea was now violent and the wind was roaring in anger. The second strike of lighting struck. It was all over. But the storm was still going and the thunder was growing loader. Gavin and Kate could feel water on there feet. They looked at the floor. A short glimpse of light struck again. Gavin looked up… All was quiet. The storm had stopped and the sun was out. The birds were singing. And best of all… Jago had gone!
